Accessing the OHSU-AMIA 10x10 Demo
This page provides instructions on how to access a demonstration
version of the course. This version has only four of the 11
units, and does not have real students interacting inside it. But
otherwise it is a faithful replica of the real course. To access
the demo course, please follow these steps:
- Navigate to http://ohsu.blackboard.com/.
- Click the User Login
button.
- Log on with the following Username and Password:
- Username: 10x10_demo
- Password: demo
- In the My Courses box, click on the link to the name of the
course:
- AMIA 10x10: Introduction to Biomedical Informatics
- This takes you to the actual course. At all times, you can
navigate through the course using the navigation buttons on the left
side of the browser window. The following options are available,
and clicking on them provides the following functions:
- Announcements
- Course Information - overview of information on course,
including syllabus, detailed description of teaching modalities, and
information on configuring your computer for the course.
- Course Materials - links to four units (out of the 11 in the
course), each of which feature voice-over-Powerpoint lectures, handouts
of the Powerpoint slides, a list of reading assignments, homework
(quiz) questions, and discussion questions
- Discussion Board - access to the threaded interactive
discussions used in the course (most classes have many postings!)
- To listen to the online lectures, you must have the Flash plug-in
installed (which most browsers already have). The slides and
lecture open in a separate window that is blocked from displaying from
some pop-up blockers. In most cases, you just need to hold down
the Ctrl key as the window opens.
